In honor and remembrance of the 2,403 service members and civilians who lost their lives and the 1,177 who were injured during the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. Never Quit, Never Forget.
In Jan of 2018, I had the opportunity to visit Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam with my family. Both of my grand fathers served in the Navy during WWII. My father who also served in the Navy during the Viet Nam conflict and was stationed in Pearl.
I can't put into words the mixed emotions that went through my mind as I stood on the memorial platform and looked over the edge at the Arizona. These are some of the photos I took from our Journey. It is a solemn reminder that life can change an any moment, and that so many sacrificed to defend our freedom and our Republic.

Not many people find history to be as fascinating as I do, I can spend countless hours taking in all of the monument and details of historical sites. There were moments I was there with my father finding it hard to choke back the tears as I read through the information of each display. My father and I walked the site and read each name, of each serviceman that paid the ultimate sacrifice to pay our respects, to people who I would never have the opportunity to meet so that we might be able to live free.
